Community Background, Proximity & Management

Lester Street Townhomes is a subdivision consisting of thirty metal townhomes in a gated community, an area whose legal description is “Tin Alley Amendment” hence some historical references to Tin Alley when refering to this community. The homes were built in 1999/2000. The metal exterior provides a low maintenance protective shell with a utilitarian look which is often contemporary inside with stained concrete and wood plank as original flooring. We are located approximately one mile from Memorial Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country, home to running, hiking and biking trails, a municipal golf course that hosts the Houston Open PGA Tournament, various sports fields. We also have easy access to an extensive network of hike and bike trails, many following Houston’s bayou system, including trails along Buffalo Bayou leading into downtown Houston, White Oak Bayou leading Northwest past Beltway 8, and more in every direction.

Lester Street Townhomes Owners Association transitioned from the use of a contracted association management company to being self-managed by volunteers, effective December 1, 2022. We are now a fully volunteer run association and we continue to manage the transition and the implementation of what we hope to be a more consistent and responsive manner of community deed restriction and policy communication and enforcement. The Board of Directors is now undertaking an effort to implement the technology and processes supporting a framework of committees with functional responsibilities, as well as updating some policies which, for various reasons, have become outdated or less relevant since they were established, dating back to 1999/2000. The Board is committed to an environment of civil discourse and collaboration that will encourage community participation and input, and allow those who live and own in the community to impact our own experience and collective benefit.
